Brief History of St Anne's Nursery and Primary School
St Anne’s Primary School was started as a Senior Primary Girls Boarding School by the Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) in 1959. To begin the new school in Kakuri Kaduna, which was known as St Anne’s Senior Primary Girls Boarding School, girls were drawn from the Society of African Missions (SMA) schools and Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) school whose girls were graduating from class four.
Among the first group to enter the school were twenty – two girls who came from St Joseph’s Primary School Zonkwa and Jaban Kogo Primary School Kwoi. Also, in this first group were a few Muslim girls whose parents were civil servants in very high positions, such as Ministers and Ambassadors of Nigeria to other countries.
